Macebell Sport
Macebell Sport is a strength/endurance sport that will serious require power, stamina and dedication.
Women are required to start with the 5kg but can move up to heavier Macebells as strength and endurance dictate.
Men are required to start with the 10kg but can move up to heavier Macebells as strength and endurance dictate.
First event: 10 and 2 swing
Objective: Score as many swings as possible.
Duration: 5 minutes
Rules: Competitor can choose either right hand over left or vice verse and switch it throughout. The competitor can rest the Macebell in whatever position is most comfortable whenever they need to. The event ends when the 5 minutes is up, or if any part of the Macebell touches the ground. A Macebell that falls out of a competitor’s hands is considered an event stoppage and the event ends.
Second event: Macebell 360
Objective: Score as many swings as possible to the right and to the left.
Duration: 5 minutes
Rules: Competitor must use" right hand over left hand" when the Macebell falls to the left side shoulder. The Competitor must use the "left over right hand" when
the Macebell falls over the right side shoulder. Competitor must swing to both sides as equally as possible. The side with the lowest number of reps is the side that is counted. Example; competitor swings 90 to the right but only 88 to the left, 88 is the counted score. Competitor may rest the Macebell in whatever position is most comfortable, as often as needed. Event ends when 5 minutes is up, or if any part of the Macebell touches the ground. If the Macebell falls from the competitor's hands, it is a event stoppage and the event ends.
Competitors maybe not rest longer than 30 minutes between events.
Other then chalk, competitors may not wear gloves or use any type of substance on the hands or handle of the Macebell to increase grip.
Competitors may only use Macebells manufactured by Torque Athletic to have the performance considered official.
